My name is Marc, born in 1972. I am married with Gemma and proud father of two sons.
One of our sons, Martí, is also part of the Mekes team. I have been active in the used machinery market since 2002 and I am still enjoying it!
What is your function at Mekes?
My main function is buying and selling machines but because our office in Spain is rather small, I am also involved on the technical side, transports, etc.
When and why have you started working at Mekes?
In 2014 I started Mekes Spain with my partner, Ronald Mekes. It was a difficult moment for me, as my old company was closing down, Ronald gave me all the support to start a second life in this business.
What makes your work at Mekes so much fun?
I am in the market since 2002 and still enjoy it the projects/deals because every time it is a different challenge. We are talking about used machinery so there is a large range of brands, years and models and depending on the condition of the machine we do a different approach. It’s never boring!
What is the biggest success you have had at Mekes?
The biggest job succes of Mekes Spain was in 2016 with a big project in the area of Valladolid. This job included the reconditioning and installation of two big KBA Rapida 162-4 colours.
The complicated thing was that we needed to install both machines at the same time because of the urgency for our customer.
We organized two teams of four people to do it in less than one month! It was the biggest deal and most complicated job we have done.
