My name is Bert Boxem and I work as Project Manager Sales and Technology at Mekes Graphic Machinery. I am married with Marije. Together we have 2 sons . I was born in the North of the Netherlands (Westernieland) which is a very small village in the province of Groningen. In my spare time I like to walk with our dog Layka. Besides the walking I also like challenges in the mountains with my road bike.
What did you do before working at Mekes Graphic Machinery and why did you decide to go work here?
From my youth I have worked at Drukkerij de Marne. From 1993 I was employed there until 2018, I worked there for 25 years. Then I moved for a new challenge near Zwolle, at Schuttersmagazijn (Hasselt). Where I have encountered many challenges in these years, from corona, fire and unfortunately bankruptcy.
But because of that, I have now been able to get a very nice challenge at Mekes Graphic Machinery in Roosendaal. This way I went from the high North to the beautiful South of the Netherlands.
What is your position at Mekes?
I started at Mekes as Project Manager Sales and Technology. My function is to support the team in projects of buying and selling the machines, to ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible.
How was your first week?
It was a very innervating working week. I was very well received and guided by my new colleagues. During the holidays it is a bit quieter so it is a good time to start and get familiar with the company.
