In the late 1970s, Jack Jr. sold Koninklijke Van Pol to NDU Elsevier. My father was already running Koninklijke Van Poll, he had been kind of an own boss and was not interested to start working under this Rotterdam company.
He quickly came to the conclusion to what he was doing in the weekends, he could also do all week. So he decided to start his own company.
At that time my father was 56 years old and to start your own company on that age, was quite a risk.
However, he managed quite well!
