It all started in 1985. After finishing my studies and military service, I joined my father’s business with the opportunity to take over.
However, as the year progressed, it became clear that we had different visions for the future. My father was focused solely on trade, while I believed in offering total solutions. What I had in mind required investment in personnel and organization, but my father saw all the complications that came with it.
So, we made a bold decision— I would start my own company, under my own name and responsibility. In other words, we became “competitors.” Of course, not entirely, but it meant I was thrown into the deep and had to stand on my own feet. And that’s how Mekes was born!
This year, we celebrate 40 years of Mekes. What was your first encounter with our company?
