Mid of last year we have dismantled a Komori LS 440 SP at GTS Gorenjski Tisk Storitve in Kranj, Slovenia. It was our first deal with this company and both parties were very happy with the collaboration in which also our Slovenian partner Impresstec has played more than an important role.
At the moment there are a complete cutting line with Polar 115 ED Autotrim, pile hoist, jogger with expulsion roller and Transomat unloader, a large size and very young folder MBO T1120 with double stream output and Palamides Alpha delivery, a Kolbus DA 260 casemaker, Kolbus KB 400 endsheet gluier and some older Stahl 16 pages folders, looking for a buyer.
GTS started at 1888 and named in 1945 as Gorenjski Tiskarna. Gorenjski Tiskarna was the most awarded graphic company in Slovenia. GTS was the most proud of receiving the Gourmand Award for best cookbook printer of the world in 2010 and the Lucie Award from US bookpublisher of the year in 2014.
“The company’s goal is to become the finest provider of printing and binding services in the region. We focus on the challenge of being flexible and responsive, on adapting to our client’s wishes and market’s demands. We impress our clients with comprehensive graphic service, supreme quality, short delivery terms and our offer of prestigious and unique product.”
GTS was well equipped for the production of commercial matters as well as for bookbinding, hard and soft cover. Although the management took some decisions trying to change the situation, the company came into troubled water some years back.
On 01.02.2019 the decision was made to stop all activities and to go in liquidation.
As we did a good job half a year before, we were invited by our partner Impresstec to make a proposal to buy the main production tools and –machines. Within short time we came to an agreement. Since the beginning of May we have started the dismantling. First the Uniplex Aster Meccanotecnica sewing line was dismantled for loading in containers as well as a freestanding Astronic 180/42. The Muller Martini Jack Plus dust jacketing machine and the Muller Martini Ribbon 60 ribbon inserter will leave for a new life in Austria. Some Slovenian graphic companies will become a hotfoil Geba and embossing Kolbus PE 312 as well as a Petrattro Cordoba 3D folder and a Comipack shrinkwrapper. A previous Slovenian competitor took over a Smipack shrinkwrapper/thermotunnel with Solema stacker. All the Slovenian deals made by our partner Impresstec.
A large size MBO T1120 folder with a Palamides Alpha 700 delivery will go to Spain and some other Spanish customers will receive a Muller Martini frontcutter and a Muller Martini BLSD 650 D stacker. Even a Soco System BE 2200 case erector will be in function after a few weeks at a Spanish printer.
The dismantling from the bookblock preparing Sigloch SB6000 and the casing-in line Kolbus BF 511 has been started and the machines will be loaded, included the three knife trimmer Kolbus HD 140 P, in several containers for longtime overseas transport.
A Muller Martini stitching line 321 will be dismantled and loaded as well in May also for a longtime trip. An offset printing machine type long “perfector” Heidelberg SM 102-8-P will go in June and the Heidelberg CD 74-5-P-LX (F-size) will follow soon after.
Even for a guillotine Wohlenberg 115 MCS-2 from 1988 and a Polar 155 CE from 1977 there is still an interest and these will be used in the nearby future in Russia and Belgium.
We are in the final discussions for the sale of the softcover, perfect binding line type Kolbus KM 470 included Kolbus HD 150 B three knife trimmer.
What is left and unsold before end of August will go to our warehouse in Roosendaal the Netherlands. At this moment there will be a complete cutting line with Polar 115 ED Autotrim, pile hoist, jogger with expulsion roller and Transomat unloader, a large size and very young folder MBO T1120 with double stream output and Palamides Alpha delivery, a Kolbus DA 260 casemaker, Kolbus KB 400 endsheet gluier and some older Stahl 16 pages folders, moving to our stock waiting to find a buyer.
131 years (1888-2019) after the start and 74 years (1945-2019) after the name given Gorensjki Tiskarna, the company GTS will no longer exist. The machines will continue producing. Making books and other printed materials somewhere in the world. Maybe the new users will get some awards as well, using these machines, as they did in Slovenia.
