After the announcement in March earlier this year, of postponing the Drupa from June 2020 to April 2021, the Drupa organisation has another announcement to make. The world’s leading trade fair for printing technologies, has decided to reduce the duration of the trade fair from eleven to nine days for 2021. The new dates of Drupa 2021 will be from 20th of April until 28th of April.
The decision was made to meet the wishes of partnering association VDMA (Printing and Paper Technology Trade Association) and taking in consideration the COVID-19 measurements as well as continuing travel activities and restrictions. Drupa President Claus Bolza-Schünemann explains via a press release that they assume fewer visitors from overseas will be able to travel to Dusseldorf. He says: “we consider a reduction from eleven to nine days to be sensible in order to direct visitor flows more efficiently. At the same time, the duration of nine days ensures that running machines can still be shown, which is a unique selling point of Drupa.”
The shortening of days also has to do with a number of exhibitors pulling out of the event. Among the ones that have canceled their participation at the event are Heidelberg, Manroland Sheetfed, Komori, Xerox and Bobst. Koenig & Bauer says it will attend the event, as well as Kolbus.
Even though some exhibitors are cancelling their participance at Drupa 2021, be assured:
Mekes Graphic Machinery will still be part of the event! We look forward to welcoming you at our stand!
Due to corona-related cancellations and hygienic protection measurements, the Drupa organisation is reorganising the floor- and hall plan. We will later confirm the stand to you.
